If you were looking forward to showing up at the Caesars Colosseum in Las Vegas and watch Adele perform live in January 2022, you are going to have wait a little longer. Adele just announced that she has tested positive for COVID-19.
Adele was set to open her live shows at the Colosseum from January 21. The singer had worked out a deal where she would perform 24 live shows titled ‘Weekends with Adele’. She is one of the most sought after live performers in the world with hits like ‘Hello’, ‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’, ‘When We Were Young’ and ‘One and Only’.
Adele released a rather emotional video explaining to her fans why she had to cancel all her shows at Caesars. She said she was absolutely gutted to cancel her entire schedule at the last minute and let her fans down. She said it was not an easy decision to make as her entire team discussed things for the last 30 hours before deciding it was in the best interests of everyone to cancel the entire set of 24 shows.

Adele told fans nearly half her production team for the show went down with COVID. She said with the current situation it was difficult for her to deliver a top quality show to her fans and hence they decided that it was better to cancel the entire show for now and reschedule to a later date – which is yet to be announced.
Ticketmaster To Issue Refunds
Adele was commanding top dollar for her performances in Las Vegas, with ticket prices to her live show going up to $6,000 per ticket. Ticketmaster had confirmed that tickets to all her shows had already sold out. Now that the entire set is cancelled, Ticketmaster has confirmed that it will start issuing refunds over the next 30 days.
Caesars released a statement and said they understood that fans were disappointed that Adele had to cancel her ‘Weekends with Adele’ show at the Colosseum but said they were looking forward to rescheduling the show and giving the fans an extraordinary experience.
