West Virginia’s iGaming market is about to get bigger with the entry of Lightning Box.
The Australian online slots developer just launched a selection of its games across the state. Two of the most popular slots in the Lightning Box portfolio are “Chicken Fox” and “Lightning Horseman“. Both games have just passed regulatory testing and are going to be available to the licensed online casinos.
The acceptance of these two games in West Virginia has helped Lightning Box further expand into the U.S market. West Virginia is the fourth state in which Lightning Box now has a presence. The developer broke into the U.S market by launching first in New Jersey. This launch happened when the Garden State initially opened its doors to online gaming back in 2014.
Lightning Box could not expand further because iGaming legalization faced a lot of opposition in recent years thanks to the ‘Coalition To Stop Internet Gambling’. However in the last couple of years, Lightning Box has quickly expanded its gaming portfolio. It first expanded into Pennsylvania in November 2020 and then in Michigan in January 2021.
SD and Lightning Box Partnership
This expansion into the first three states has been made possible by its partnership with SG Digital, the online gaming division of Scientific Games, a big name in the industry.
Peter Causley, Lightning Box CEO and co-founder said he was very happy to hear about the two games meeting the state’s requirements and would now be available in West Virgina. Causley points out that his company has become a popular part of the gaming market in America and many US players have been happy with their games.
There are quite a few opportunities in the West Virginia market for Lightning Box. This is mainly because several gambling operators in the market would be very happy to work with SG Digital because of the games they have on offer.
The Partnerships Director Digital for Scientific Games was also a happy man. Steve Mayes said the company has had a good run in the US and the latest addition of West Virginia as a new market is a welcome one. The company promises to deliver an immersive experience to West Virginia players while also deepening its partnership with Lightning Box.
Lightning Box also recently entered the Colombian gaming market in cooperation with Betsson.
