Caesars Entertainment is in the running for a casino license in New York City, with rapper Jay-Z as their partner.
The group wants to bring a casino to Times Square and to up the ante, the company has decided to upgrade its reward program. Local businesses in New York City have been added to provide an incentive for regulators to give the brand licensing.
Extending the Loyalty Program to Local Businesses
Caesars Rewards members will have access to gift cards from their reward credits as part of the change. The brand officials have already started signing up local businesses to be a part of the Caesars Rewards Gift Card Network. Partners of the rewards program include hotels, retailers, restaurants, entertainment facilities and comedy clubs.
Caesars is working with SL Green Realty Corp on the project and merchants located in Times Square are already on board. The effort is part of trying to obtain the license and sees Caesars join the Coalition for A Better Times Square.
The expansion of the reward program will bring millions of dollars in new money to the local economy. Chief Executive of Caesars Entertainment, Tom Reeg, pointed out that Caesars Rewards is the largest and most successful loyalty program of a gaming entity in the world. It will be a natural fit for NYC.
Bringing Casino Players to NYC
Caesars Rewards has over 60 million members. The large loyalty program is connected to all Caesars properties and allows players to spend rewards in areas across the country. The plan in NYC would not be the first time that a local economy would benefit from the program and it most likely won’t be the last.
Businesses that have joined up with Caesars via the rewards program are excited to get started. Local business owners see the plan as an opportunity to bring visitors to the area and create future customers.
Caesars has plans to work with SL Green Realty and Roc Nation, a company owned by Jay Z, to bring the casino to life. Existing office space located at 1515 Broadway would be home to the new casino, titled “Caesars Palace Times Square“.
The property would include 250,000 square feet of gaming space and a hotel with 950 guest rooms. The bidding process for casino licensing is now open with three commercial casino licenses up for grabs in the state.
Additional companies are vying for consideration including Wynn Resorts and Las Vegas Sands. Will the rewards option be enough to push Caesars ahead of the competition?
