Caesars Virginia’s General Manager, Chris Albrecht, spoke about the way the resort is deeply intertwined with the city’s identity.
“You’re going to see a lot of downtown Danville elements in there” he said, referring to the architectural design.
Albrecht went on to explain that the entire building “features a lot of the brick and elements” that are part of historic downtown Danville.
The homage is probably best noticed in the restaurant lineup, where spots like The Mill Burger have been designed to properly honor the old Schoolfield Mill that once stood on the site now home to Caesars.

The impact, he believes, will go way beyond entertainment, as the resort has already generated $28 million in revenue from the temporary casino that has been operating for over a year, attracting more than 100,000 monthly visits.
The GM expects the grand opening scheduled for next week to attract even more success.
We’ve had several thousand come to our temporary facility, and I think we’re going to see more than double or triple that for the grand opening
Temporary Casino to Stay Open After Grand Opening
The temporary casino will remain open a few extra days after the grand opening, with some slot machines transitioning to the new facility and others being relocated.
Albrecht emphasized the broader benefits of the resort, noting that it’s not just about Caesars, but also about introducing visitors to all that Danville has to offer.

Although the opening date has suffered some slight delays, Albrecht praised his team’s hard work since breaking ground in May 2022.
