According to fresh data by the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC), Hard Rock Northern Indiana tallied more revenue after paying winning bettors than any of its 12 competitors in the state for the 31st month in a row in May.
One of the Best Months Since Opening
The venue that promises to offer the ultimate gaming experience in Chicagoland with its 1,700+ slots and 80 table games once again defeated all other commercial casinos in the Hoosier State with a reported win of $39.3 million.
The figure marked a 16.4% increase compared to the same month of last year when the casino reached $33.7 million in wins.
At the same time, May’s number represented one of the highest monthly totals since the Gary gaming destination offering dining and entertainment officially opened on May 14, 2021.
The casino’s machine play reached a total of $288.5 million last month while the state-best win was $28.8 million.
Compared to the same May of last year, when the slot win reached $25.4 million on $255.9 million in play, the Gary venue was in the lead statewide.
Even more, the casino was in the lead in terms of table game play, with special emphasis on baccarat where it gathered $48.2 million.
Hard Rock also topped the table win with a reported figure of $10.4 million.
The same IGT data showed considerably larger amounts of money were wagered at Hard Rock’s table games last month than the tables at the three other Northwest Indiana casinos brought together.
Indiana Reaches $215.1M in Total Casino Win in May
Hard Rock Northern Indians accounted for over 18% of Indiana’s $215.1 million in total casino wins in May 2024, according to the same data from IGC.
Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana’s president, Matt Schuffert, commented on their accomplishment, giving credit to their “outstanding team members, who focus day in and day out on providing memorable experiences” for guests.
The casino president also took the opportunity to express his pleasure for seeing Hard Rock get voted as “Best Casino“, “Best Casino Dining” as well as “Best Place for Lunch“, among other equally prestigious accolades, at The Times Best of the Region awards just in time for the casino to celebrate its third anniversary.
Indiana’s ex-earnings leader, Horseshoe Casino, only ranked fourth in May, falling behind sister properties Horseshoe Indianapolis and Caesars Southern Indiana with $21.8 million in win, signaling a drop of 11.2% from the May 2023 recorded win of $24.5 million.
East Chicago’s Ameristar Casino recorded a decrease of 1.9% in monthly win to $14.6 million in May 2024 compared with the $14.9 million it recorded in May 2023.
Michigan City’s Blue Chip Casino went up 5.4% in terms of total win, reaching $10.6 million in May 2024 compared to the $10.1 million recorded in May 2023.
