For land-based casinos to remain relevant, operators must come up with new and exciting ways to entice customers. Typically, this will involve new games and promotions.
However, from time to time, operators will decide to go big and spend millions to expand gaming offerings as well as other amenities.
Last year, the Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino announced a $275 million expansion. As part of this project, the casino gaming floor would be expanded to offer more games and features. The renovation is now complete, and visitors can explore new slots as well as more open space on the casino floor of the facility.
Larger Slot Section and Poker Room
Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River opened its new gaming floor with 25,000 square feet of space and 300 new slot games. Players can now explore far more reeled machines and play eight new table games. The extra options ensure that all patrons will be able to enjoy a larger gaming space.
Harrah’s is also associated with the World Series of Poker brand, so the casino is now home to a new WSOP poker room. Players repeatedly requested that the facility add a branded space for poker gaming. Poker fans can now play a wide variety of cash games, including Texas Hold’em and Three Card Poker.
The poker room offers guests access to games Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. On Friday and Saturday, it is open two additional hours until 4 a.m. The poker room provides an upgraded experience and is sure to host many WSOP tournament events.
Even More Gaming Options
Harrah’s Cherokee includes a new casino bar with seating for twenty-two guests, along with the casino floor addition and the World Series of Poker space. The bar includes video games on the table top, with eight beer taps and lounge seating.
Players can take a break and enjoy the bar, where they can watch others play games or play themselves via the bar top. The casino’s General Manager, Lumpy Lambert, stated that the venue is ecstatic to reach the latest milestone and reveal the expanded gaming floor.
Lambert stated that every detail of the casino gaming floor was selected to create a memorable experience for guests and the brand is confident that the amenities and offerings will far exceed the expectations of guests. The group worked with Robins & Morton, a general contractor, to complete the expansion project.
