Caleb Rogers, Mugshot

  • Prosecutors feel confident that Rogers is the casino robber.
  • The complaint points out a unique gait of the robber as he walked within the casinos.
  • More details were provided regarding the Red Rock and Aliante robberies within the complaint.

The federal complaint charges filed against Caleb Rogers accuse the police officer of conducting three robberies in Las Vegas. In the first incident, a man was seen walking into Red Rock Casino on November 12 in dark clothing and a full-face mask. He was also wearing black latex gloves.

He went up to the casino cage and was able to leave with just over $73,000. He fled the scene in a pick-up truck type vehicle. Details from the robbery say that the individual had a unique gait where he kicked out his left leg and foot while walking.

Less than two months later, on January 6, a man walked into Aliante Casino and demanded money from the casino cage. In this instance, he left with $11,500, traveling away from the casino in a Volkswagen. Witnesses to this robbery say the man had the same unusual gait, unable to run from the scene.

In the Rio robbery, Rogers was caught leaving the facility and police confiscated a gun on his person. After checking the serial number on the weapon, it showed the gun was registered to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department. The complaint states that the same weapon was checked out to Rogers during the time frames of each robbery.

Rogers reportedly walked in the Rio in the same fashion as the robber from Red Rock and Aliante. The suspect was asked by detectives if anything could have been done to stop the robberies from taking place and he replied with ‘nothing’.

Search Warrant Conducted in Rogers Home

After his arrest, police headed to Roger’s home to search the premises for anything connected to the robberies. Investigators were able to locate black latex gloves and a registration paper for a white Volkswagen Jetta, though the paperwork showed the registration was suspended.

Additional paperwork showed a knee injury from 2019 that Rogers suffered from, seemingly explaining the unique gait that tied him to the crime scenes. Police also found paperwork regarding eviction from his home and past-due notices.

Rogers faces several charges in connection with all three crimes, including brandishing a firearm and interference with commerce by robbery. He will appear in court this Thursday at a federal courthouse in Las Vegas.

It will be interesting to see how Rogers will plea, given the fact that all signs point to his involvement in each robbery. Perhaps he will try to cut a deal or go a completely different route and feign innocence.
