Bellagio, Las VegasMGM Resorts International announced a huge renovation plan for the Bellagio Casino in Nevada which they had planned to sell in 2019.

The Spa Tower of the casino will receive a revamp, with the company spending $110 to redesign over 800 guest rooms and 100 suites at the casino hotel.

The first redesigned rooms should be ready by July and the full project completed by October.

Creating a Premier Destination

MGM Resorts is focused on creating a premier destination with its Bellagio property in Nevada. President and Chief Operating Officer for the casino, Ann Hoff, stated that the new suites of the Spa Tower will help position the casino as a top destination for travelers.

The project plans to offer custom furnishings within the guest rooms and suites, with marble, wood, and mother of pearl accents. Italian style is the theme with color palettes pulled from the Alps and Lake Como in Italy.

Champalimaud Design of New York will be working with the Design Group of MGM to complete the project. Plans include matching the room upgrades made within the main tower of the Bellagio for a cohesive look.

Included in the project are the Salon Suites, Bellagio Suites, Penthouses, Bellagio Suites, and Executive Hospitality Suites. These are the larger areas within the hotel tower. The 400 suites of the Bellagio Tower will be redesigned as well next year with help from Champalimaud.

NJ’s Borgata Also Planning Redesign

The Borgata Casino also has plans to remodel a section of the property located in New Jersey. The Water Club will be transformed into MGM Tower and offer over 700 guest rooms with a remodeled look. There will also be luxury suites offered.

The Immersion Spa will be changed to event space on the 32nd floor of the hotel. The 9,000 square foot former spa will be a great option for the casino to offer an area for business or guest events. With the change, the Borgata will be able to connect better to the MGM Resorts brand and bring a quality resort and entertainment experience to life in the Garden State.

Renovations of the property should be completed by Memorial Day weekend. Remodeled rooms will be open in April, so guests can check out the new spaces far ahead of the busy summer season.

MGM Resorts has been quite busy with renovations as of late to try and stay at the top of the game when it comes to land-based casino offerings. Guests want a luxury and high end feel with their hotel stays and the brand is working hard to offer that experience.
