surveillance photo of two suspects wanted in connection for robberies at Atlantic casino

  • The first robbery took place in June at the Resorts Hotel and Casino.
  • The second took place at Caesars
  • Around $27,000 was stolen in total from the casino goers.

When visiting a casino, players are prepared to win or lose, not get robbed.

However, that is just what happened in two separate incidents in Atlantic City. The state police of New Jersey are currently on the lookout for two individuals wanted in connection with two robberies, one at the Resorts Hotel and Casino and the second at the Caesars Hotel and Casino. Around $27,000 was stolen in total.

Suspects Wanted in Connection with Both Incidents

Police are asking the public to help identify a man and women they feel are connected to two robberies in Atlantic City. The first incident took place around 1:30 am on June 15. A man reportedly took $15,000 from a person located at the Resorts Hotel and Casino. The victim was seated at a slot game when he was attacked, and the money stolen.

After the man took the large amount of cash, he left the casino in a gray Toyota sedan. Security camera footage shows the man leaving the property in the car driven by a female. Then a few weeks later, a second robbery took place by the same man, but at a different location.

On July 8, the same male seen at the Resorts Casino was also seen at Caesars robbing an individual of $12,000 in cash. The man approached the victim at a slot machine around 10:40 pm and took the money. Again, the man left the scene in the same vehicle caught on camera at Resorts.

Authorities are pleading with the public for any tips on who the two individuals might be. It is unclear if the attackers choose their victims at random or perhaps, they had been casing the casino to find players carrying large amounts of cash on their person.

Be Aware of Your Surroundings

These two incidents reiterate the need for players to be aware of their surroundings at a casino. Because of the amount of money that flows through venues, players are easily targets of criminals. It is recommended that players do not cash out large wins but instead opt for a cashier’s check. This way, the individual is not walking around with a lot of cash in their pocket.

Always be aware of your surroundings when at a casino, especially at night. If you feel unsafe for any reason, speak to security to alleviate any issue or have someone walk you to your vehicle when leaving.
