Global online gaming operator PointsBet announced this week that its online casino services are now live in West Virginia. The offering now joins the online sportsbook of the brand that launched in August of last year. PointsBet began its foray in the US online casino sector in May 2021 in Michigan then added its product in New Jersey in July. In the future, the brand plans to expand even further with Pennsylvania next on the list.
As more states offer online casino gaming in the US than ever before, PointsBet has wasted no time in offering its unique product. In areas where the sportsbook is present and iGaming is allowed, the brand has obtained additional licensing to offer its casino content.
In West Virginia, the online casino can be found within the same platform as the sportsbook. Simply click on the Casino tab and you will be taken to the gaming site. For now, PointsBet only offers 15 games in WV. The majority are slot games including popular titles like 88 Fortunes and Chicken Fox. The site also offers a small selection of table games including blackjack and Texas Hold’em.
In a press release, PointsBet President of Product and Technology, Manjit Gombra Singh, commented on the new launch, calling it an exciting time for the brand.
We’re quickly scaling our business and have now integrated Scientific Games platform to expand our premium content portfolio. We’re looking forward to expanding and refining our suite of products throughout the year to deliver more options for our users in PointsBet online casinos.
PointsBet offers online services in West Virginia thanks to a partnership with Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.
Expanding to New Regions of the United States
PointsBet has been quite busy expanding its online sports betting and casino brand throughout the United States. Sports betting is offered in Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Virginia and New York.
In states where online casino gaming is allowed, the brand has set up both options and plans to in the future, such as the case with Pennsylvania. Because PointsBet is primarily a sports betting brand, the company focuses on that side first, then adds in online casino where available.
It is expected that as more states jump on the iGaming bandwagon, PointsBet will not be far behind. The company is smaller than gaming giants like FanDuel and DraftKings but does offer a unique service option with its points betting product. Players are able to opt into a chance to win or lose an amount based on a margin connected to the score, varying the process from a fixed wager and giving more leeway per bet.
