Rio Las Vegas RewardsSummary

  • Rio Rewards is geared towards locals and visitors.
  • The program has four tiers.
  • Caesars Rewards will no longer be accepted.

With a new management team comes several changes. The Rio Hotel & Casino was acquired by Dreamscape Companies in 2019 from Caesars Entertainment.

With the acquisition, the property began to undergo changes to ensure that it would provide an upgraded experience to guests. This week, the brand announced a new reward program, stepping away from the Caesars Rewards option the casino had used for many years.

Rio Rewards is Now Available

Starting October 2, Rio Hotel & Casino now features a program known as Rio Rewards. The new option includes four tiers and allows players to earn several rewards. Members start with Rouge and move up to Azul, Gold and Platinum.

Players can earn several benefits from the program, including complimentary hotel stays, show tickets, early check-in, late check-out, monthly dining credits, drink vouchers, and many other options. The program was geared towards locals and visitors to cater to the full demographic of the casino.

Chief Gaming Officer Kevin Sweet pointed out that the reward program is one that will stand alone when it comes to the competitors, based on what the program gives its members in comps and rewards.

With the new Rio Rewards program in place, the casino will no longer accept Caesars Rewards cards. Members of Caesars Rewards will be transitioned to the new program if they visited since 2017.

Points and Tier Details

Once you join the reward program, you start at the bottom level. Points are earned from slots and table game play at the casino. You can also earn points from non-gaming purchases. Points for real money slot play equal 1 point per $1.25 coin in. Video poker games offer 1 point per $10. Electronic roulette and keno games (both standalone) will give you 1 point per $5 bet.

Table game points are a bit tricky. They are based on the amount you wager plus the time played, type of game play, and average bet. Roulette provides 1 point per $5, 3:2 Blackjack offers 1 point per $30, and all other table games offer 1 point per $10.

Hotel stays, shopping, and dining offer 2 points for every $1 spent. The non-gaming option is a great way to boost your overall point total. New players can sign up today for a card online or in person at the Rio.

It is unclear if Caesars Rewards point holders will be able to maintain tier level, but I imagine the Rio has taken this into account when it comes to transitioning to the new program for existing members.
