Wild Wild West Gambling HallSummary

  • Wild Wild West is the four casino of Station Casinos to be demolished.
  • The property will be redeveloped with employees moved to other venues.
  • Red Rock Resorts has owned the property since 1998.

Station Casinos is a busy gaming operator that offers services via several casinos across Nevada. The brand announced a short time ago that four casinos would be demolished soon to make way for new developments. This week, the final casino closes its doors and employees are to be moved to new locations. The Wild Wild West Gambling Hall & Hotel property will close permanently tonight at midnight.

Details of the Closure

The small casino was first opened by Red Rock Resorts in 1998 and was a top spot for a casino getaway especially older gamblers. The casino offered a small selection of just over 160 slot machines with a smaller 260 room hotel. With the closing, the operator behind the brand will use the 20 acres of land and combine it with 80 more to build a new unannounced project.

Wild Wild West will be no more after midnight tonight with employees reporting to other properties for employment. Jobs are to be offered at other gaming venues to those who will no longer work at Wild Wild West. The company thanked its team members for their commitment to the brand and making guests feel welcome for many years.

Additional Casino Closures

Wild Wild West is the last venue owned by Station Casinos to close that was listed in a group of four for demolition earlier this year. Fiesta Henderson, Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho were closed back when the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020 and continued to remain close for the duration.

Back in July, these properties were marked for demolition and the intention of Station Casinos was to sell the land beneath the venues to interested buyers. Work has already started within these properties with construction machines and excavators on-site.

Applications for demolition were filled out by the brand and so far, city officials have approved the demo of Fiesta Henderson and Texas Station. Approval has yet to come through for Fiesta Rancho.

The casino company has big plans for the future with 126 acres purchased south of the Strip near Las Vegas Boulevard and Cactus Avenue. The company paid over $173 million and are supposedly considering a new resort for the area.

The company is also focused on a new venue, Durango Casino & Resort. The project is in the works and has a price tag of $750 million. The property will include a casino floor with 73,000 square feet of space and a hotel with 200 guest rooms.
